CONDITIONING
Men’s
Class – (Level 2)
combines flexibility, balance and core training
Zumba
Plus – (Level 2) new
breed of aerobic class makes you feel you’re at a Latin Dance Party. Too much fun to be exercise.
Senior
Fitness – (Level
1) A fun and functional class that
offers appropriate cardio, strength, balance and flexibility exercises
for
those with limited mobility
Total
Conditioning – (Level
2/3) Cardio, strength, balance and flexibility in one total body
workout
Pump it
Up – (Level 3) –A
challenging cardio/strength interval class
Instructor’s
Choice (Level
2/3) – Something completely different every week.
Anything from group strength training to
bellydancing to partner training.
Functional
Strength – (Level
2/3) Combines traditional strength training, balance training
and core
conditioning in a challenging class
Core
Conditioning (Level
2/3) – Uses a variety of techniques and equipment to strengthen
the abdominals
and low back
Simply
Stretch (Level 1) –
Ease into muscle lengthening flexibility exercises for the entire body

MIND/BODY
Yoga
Flow – (Level 2) For individuals that have
been practicing Yoga for awhile and are able to move from one posture
to
another with little to no difficulty.
Gentle
Yoga – (Level 2) Yoga
means union and practicing yoga helps one unite the mind, body and
spirit. One may join the class anytime and
not feel
lost. Great for those in pain.
Joint
Freeing – (Level 1)
Chair based class that emphasizes slow breathing while moving through
some
gentle yoga poses and self-care techniques.
Tai Chi
& Qi Gong (All
levels) Simple, flowing movements and deep breathing help bring
balance to the
body and mind. Develops both tranquility and vitality.
Meditation
(All levels) - Scientific
studies support the positive effects of meditation on an individual’s
well
being. Each class consists of a brief
lecture, practice of meditation and sharing.
Healing
Tools (All levels)
- Learn and practice various mind/body techniques that aid the
emotional,
spiritual and physical body.
Mind/Body
Class Descriptions
Being truly fit involves
using the mind and body to focus and expand
your natural abilities. By tapping into your inner reserves, you can
learn to
carry yourself with more confidence, move with more agility and find a
more peaceful
way to direct your life.
“Mind-body”
practices encourage
one to step back from pre-conceived ideas or judgments while learning
to
observe one’s behavior. Slowing down to hear from your self allows one
to
develop stress hardiness and establish healthy habits.
Stressors such as physical
pain, chronic illness, grief, emotional
upheaval, loneliness or loss of spiritual connection can drain ones
vital
energy. Learning and practicing mind body activities are scientifically
proven
to aid with pain management, sleep issue, high blood pressure,
depression and
many other common problems we see in individuals of all ages.

center offers a wide variety of mind/ body classes and personal
services.
Joint
Freeing-
(Level1) This chair based class emphasizes slow and deliberate
breathing while moving through some gentle Yoga poses and practices of
comforting self-care techniques.
Yoga
Flow-
(Level 2) For individuals
that have been practicing Yoga for awhile and are able to move from one
posture
to the next with little or no difficulty. Each session consists of a
time of
centering and breath work, stretching and strengthening poses and a
period of
relaxation.
Gentle
Yoga-Yoga
means union and practicing yoga helps one unite the mind, body and
spirit. This class is taught with a therapeutic intention in the
non-competitive spirit of Yoga. One may
join the class at anytime and not be lost; great for those in pain.
Healing
Tools-Learn
and practice various mind-body techniques that aid the emotional,
spiritual and physical body.
Meditation-
Scientific studies support the positive effects of meditation on
individual’s
well being. Each class consists of a brief lecture, practice of
meditation and
sharing.
Qigong
(Level 1): Qigong pronounced chee gung
is an ancient Chinese system
based on the principle that the human body is an energy system. Qigong
is a
combination of gentle movement and meditation that makes the mind and
spirit
tranquil, while cultivating good health and vitality.
Tai Chi
(Level 1): Tai Chi
pronounced tie chee is a Chinese
movement discipline that benefits the practitioner with increased
strength,
balance and flexibility. Several studies have proved that a regular
practice of
Tai Chi can decrease falls in older adults. This slow paced standing
practice
emphasizes breathing deeply and staying focused while executing the
movements
to integrate the body and mind.

DESCRIPTIONS
Level 1- (low
endurance, stiff achy joints, balance challenged)

GENERAL
CONDITIONING
Arthritis
Aquatics – (Level
1) Gentle range of motion exercises for every joint. It follows
the Arthritis
Foundation guidelines.
Beginner
Water Aerobics
(Level Two) – a transition class between arthritis and water
aerobics
Water
Aerobics (Level 2/3) –
Fun class that offers primarily cardio plus some strength exercises
using a
variety of equipment
Aquatic
Total Conditioning
(Level 2/3) – Equal amounts of cardio, functional strength and
flexibility
Aquatic
Zumba – (Level1/ 2) Cardio and core class that feels like a
Latin dance
party!
Beyond
the Basics – (Level
1/2) Similar to an arthritis class but with the addition of
balance exercises,
some strength work using the paddles and a 10 min. water walking segment
Aquatic
Core – (Level 2)
Strengthens abdominals and low back in the water using a variety of
exercise
techniques and equipment
Deep Water Aerobics – (Level
2/3) Participants wear a buoyant “belt” that keeps them upright in the
deep
water and able to do jogging, jacks, etc. with absolutely no impact.
SWIM
LESSONS
Beginner/Advanced
Beginner –
learn to float (front and back) and basic swimming techniques.
Intermediate
- Development
of basic strokes, flip turns, etc.
Intro to
Snorkeling – Bring
your own mask, snorkel and fins.
WATER
VOLLEYBALL
This group plays by the
“fun” rules as they combine exercise and lots of laughter.
